May 4 through September 28, 2010: Downtown Farmers' Market every Tuesday night from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Grant Avenue.

July 4, 2010: Novato’s Independence Day Parade takes place on the 4th of July at 11am on Grant Avenue between Reichert Avenue and Seventh Streets before a street audience of thousands of spectators.Co-sponsored by the DNBA and the City of Novato, the parade is a completely volunteer production. The parade’s 100+ entries consist of marching bands, floats, equestrians, VIP’s, vintage military vehicles, dogs, youth and service clubs, novelty drill teams and US Coast Guard helicopter and vintage airplane flyovers. Start the day with a “Four-on-the-Fourth” foot race, the “Mayor’s Mile” one-mile walk, and the annual Buckaroo Breakfast. This patriotic, flag-waving, red white and blue celebration is a true expression of the real meaning of America’s birthday! This year’s theme: “Happy 50th Birthday Novato!

July 7, 2010: Downtown Novato Business Association (DNBA) General meetings are open to all DNBA members and the public. Networking begins at 5:30 PM and the program starts at 6:00 PM at Mill's Restaurant at 7330 Redwood Blvd. in Novato. Come hear Cheryl Paddock, Executive Director of the Novato Youth Center, give us an overview of the NYC. Dinner sponsored by Alteria Home Loans.

August 21, 2010: Novato Horsemens' Western Day celebrates Novato’s 50th birthday and rich agricultural history. Novato Horsemen are planning a day long event highlighting The American Cowboy and the place horses have had in the vibrant history of our town. Beginning at 10:00 am, Novato Horsemen’s Arena will be the scene for some exciting demonstrations, old-time cowboy competitions such as mounted cowboy shooting and a variety of activities for the whole family. The day will culminate with an authentic chuck-wagon dinner and dancing with a western band. Bravo!

August 26, 2010: Women In Business SummerFest is the Novato Chamber of Commerce's event to honor the annual Women In Business (WIB) Leadership award winner. Men and women are invited to mix and mingle while enjoying appetizers from various Novato restaurants and caterers. Chamber members and non-member businesses are invited to attend.

October 2010: Hamilton Hometown Festival is an annual tradition which began in 1999 with the formation of the new residential community at the former Air Force base. We celebrate the motto of “Neighbors Building Community.”

The Hamilton Hometown Festival is old-fashioned fun for the whole family! Organizers and participants include many of the non-profit organizations that call Hamilton home: The Hamilton Field Community Development Foundation, Unity in Marin, New Beginnings Homeless Shelter, Novato Parks, Recreation and Community Services, Novato Historical Guild, Marin Museum of Contemporary Art, Respecting Your Elders, Boy Scout Troop 19, South Novato Library, Marin Literacy, Marin Family Action, the Novato YMCA at Hamilton and the Coast Guard Spouses Club.

October 2010: Fall Classic Golf Tournament is the Novato Chamber of Commerce's business networking on the green. A fun day of golfing while raising money to support Chamber programs. Men and women business professionals both Chamber and non-Chamber members are invited to attend.

January 2011: Novato Chamber of Commerce Board Installation and Volunteer Recognition Luncheon recognizes the past year’s volunteers and Committee Chairs, honors the large and small businesses of the year chosen for the previous year and installs the current year’s Board of Directors. The audience usually includes County Supervisors, City Council members, Chamber Board of Directors, Committee Chairs and volunteers, major sponsors of the Chamber and various interested Chamber members. Speakers for this event include the Chamber’s CEO, immediate Past-President, incoming President and a guest presenter.

January 2011: Paint the Town Red Birthday Bash and Citizen of the Year Gala is your Passport to an Evening of History & Tradition where citizens, businesses, restaurants, community leaders, organizations as well as people from every corner of our community come together to celebrate 51 Years of Community …“Paint the Town Red” Novato’s Birthday Bash is a “tradition” … a Community Partnership honoring Novato’s Citizen of the Year and celebrating our City, our People and the Dynamic Spirit of Novato.

April 2011: Clean and Green Day is a citywide litter clean up and beautification effort that serves as Novato’s Earth Day activity, as well as Keep California Beautiful and the Great American Cleanup. Individuals, families, neighborhoods, schools, organizations and businesses work on projects throughout the city. Over 200 people usually participate.

June 2011: Festival of Art, Wine & Music is the Novato Chamber of Commerce's community event designed to wine, dine and entertain the public while raising funds to support Chamber programs. The audience includes a vast majority of the Novato Community as well as Marin County residents and tourists from outside the county and state. Approximately 90,000 attendees total; estimated 55,000 on Saturday and 35,000 on Sunday. Approximately one third of the attendees come from outside of Marin County.
